Love Too was written from a standard progression for my guitar ensemble. They were to march in the 1976 Bicentennial Parade. It never happened. Gary presented the manuscript as a gift and suggested I add it to the book.

Three Motions was written for my wife Marion's ballet school recital in 1962. It featured a guest soloist.

Blue Mist and Purple Haze were written from standard song progressions. Lennie Tristano heard them and said "call them original". I did.
